The team were commissioned by Watford Borough Council to produce a waymarking strategy to provide coherent signage that will facilitate movement within, to and around the town centre. The project supported the delivery of the Watford Town Centre Cultural Strategy. The work has two main aims, the first is to facilitate the delivery of two pilot signs (outside Watford Junction Station and at the junction of High Street and Clarendon Road), whilst the second is to provide an overarching strategy to guide future investment in wayfinding features. Development of the strategy has included the identification of attractions and facilities to be incorporated, locations for potential signage, and exploration into the types and styles of signage that could be adopted. The team have undertaken several consultation sessions with local stakeholders including Watford Museum, West Herts College and local disability groups, as well as local councillors.
