AR Urbanism provided an initial feasibility study into development of a tight urban site in Hillingdon including two heritage buildings. The listed art deco ex-department Store (Randalls) and a 100 year old former fire station building offered major opportunities for creating a town centre residential development with a clear identity in an area with very little residential use but great potential. While the street frontage would have active uses at ground level, the upper levels of the buildings are residential with new and existing blocks set around a landscaped internal courtyard social space, with the re-purposed heritage buildings.
